So the retrieval went relatively smoothly and we now have 9 eggs in the lab in the process of being fertilized.
My left ovary didn't co-operate again, resulting in the doctor actually having to insert a long needle through my belly to retrieve the eggs from it. Don't worry the drugs were GOOD! Didn't feel any worse than the normal internal ultrasound.
The doctor was happy with the results and happy with Matt's sample, and may actually do a few eggs traditional IVF to see if natural fertilization can occur which is valuable information.
I am now home and resting comfortably, very little discomfort and not too spaced from the drugs.
We will get a call tomorrow to tell us how many have fertilized and are starting to develop and then again on day 3 and day 5 post retrieval (today is day 0).
We are both so happy with the results and can't wait to hear how many embryos we have.
